Evaluations
Referee Evaluations (formerly called Assessments) can be both formal and informal. Informal evaluations, known as development and guidance evaluations, are completed using a simple form. These evaluations offer general performance feedback and a record is created for the official, assessor and the State Director of Assessment.
Formal evaluations are required for grade maintenance and upgrade. These evaluations follow specific criteria and must be completed online by the Referee Coach.
YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROPRIATE GAME ASSIGNMENT BEFORE REQUESTING AN ASSESSMENT. DO NOT REQUEST AN ASSESSMENT WITHOUT CONFIRMING YOUR GAME ASSIGNMENT WITH YOUR LOCAL ASSIGNOR.
All online evaluations are completed in either the U.S. Soccer Demosphere Assessment System or Colorado's OMS registration management system and can be accessed by the official, Referee Coach, State Director of Referee Development and the U.S. Soccer Referee Department.
FITNESS REQUIREMENTS AND TESTING
The official fitness test for referees consists of two tests.
Test 1: Repeated Sprint Ability (RSA), measures the referee’s ability to perform repeated sprints over 40m.
Test 2: Interval Test, evaluates the referee’s capacity to perform a series of high-speed runs over 75m interspersed with 25m walking intervals.
Referees must pass the FIFA Fitness Test at least once a year. It is highly recommended that referees train for the test.
Registration is required for each time the test/training is offered. Test fee includes the cost of administrators, athletic trainer/medical staff, facilities and is non-refundable

Pre-registration is mandatory. No Walk-up registration for any tests/training. No refunds/transfers of payments. You must register for the test AND complete the waiver form prior to attending.
