2019/20 Colorado Super League best xi

The 2019/20 edition of the Colorado Super League Best XI is a collection of the top local players from the latest regular season and it’s one of the most prestigious honors any player can receive.
All teams were reached out to and had the opportunity to nominate up to five players. Coaches then each had four votes to distribute on the final voting list. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players, as voting was tracked. Only players that were nominated by their team coach/owner were eligible for selection.
Here is the 2019/20 Colorado Super League Best XI as voted on by the participating teams.
Roberto Perez / Goalkeeper
Perez was one of Chivas’ most consistent players during the regular season and one of the pillars that helped Guadalajara lift their first Super League title. Perez’s reflexes, positioning and experience are some of his strongest characteristics.
Jose Parra / Defender
Parra was one of the enforcers in the backline for a Sunnyside team that had a good start to the season. Jose mainly played center-back, but his energy & speed allowed him make runs down the flank sporadically throughout a game. Parra is described as a hard worker, great leader and motivator who always gives 110% in games.
Brian Sheehan / Defender
FC Denver’s defense was solid this fall and a lot had to do with having a center-back like Sheehan in the backline. The FC Denver captain started every game of the season except for the final after sustaining an injury in the semifinal game. Sheehan’s physicality, aerial threat and communication are some of his major strengths.
Nic Hartman / Defender
“Nic is very deserving of this recognition, Nic is our team captain and has been a really great leader for our team. He always amazes his team with his ability to continue playing at such a high level year after year. Nic's character embodies everything that we believe in at Rush, he is a very intelligent player, has tenacity, grit, passion, and is a very loyal person to his club and team. These are not traits that are easy to come by these days. Inza Cisse / Defender
The iron man of GAM United FC’s back line. Inza has been with the club since the beginning and has hardly missed any games. GAM United FC’s captain posseses tremendous leadership and and unmatched dedication to the club.
Carlos Castro / Midfielder
Carlos is an extremely hard-working, solid player out in the wings for FC Denver. Castro is very dangerous attacking and creating chances for his teammates, whether that’s providing service or on the run. Defensively, Castro makes few mistakes.
Zidani Baptiste / Midfielder
Baptiste is the heart and the playmaker of GAM United FC. Zidani did not miss a single game this season, helping his team reach the semifinals. The offense of the team begins with him, and chances are he is either creating or finishing goals himself. Speed, power, vision and creativity are some of his strongest characteristics. When Baptiste plays well, the team does extremely well.
Juan Miranda / Midfielder
Guadalajara’s possession style of play allowed Miranda to showcase his skill & creativity. An attack-minded midfielder, Miranda’s technical ability to find the final pass helped Chivas win games this season. When given the chance, Juan is not afraid to think about it twice and strike from distance as well.
Sergio Ramirez / Midfielder
Ramirez is one of the key players for CD Camargo and a rare talent who has a very good left foot. His technical ability, vision and speed help him create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. Ramirez is also very dangerous shooting from distance and on set pieces.
Stibe Torres / Forward
Torres was a clinical striker for Guadalajara this season scoring goals in important moments. He is a versatile striker that could play any position on the attacking front, as well as a false No. 9. Torres’ decision making, positioning and finishing make him a threat in front of goal.
Solomon Appiah / Forward
The game changer. Solomon’s speed and skills truly change the game when he is healthy. Appiah can play any position up top, causing opposing teams problems to their back line. His quick feet, speed & determination to take defenders 1v1 make Appiah a dangerous player to square up against.
