Commerce City, Colo. - Sunnyside FC was unable to hold on to a 4-0 advantage and ends up splitting points with a tenacious Colorado Rush II side.

It was the game of the week for many reasons. Sunnyside FC got off to a hot start this season with wins over CD Camargo & Union Jerez FC and Colorado Rush II were also victorious in their opening game against CFL Aurora FC. After those results, Sunnyside was sitting in 6th place with 13 points, only two behind Colorado Rush II, who was in 5th place. A win for Sunnyside would not only mean their third consecutive win, but would also mean surpassing Rush II in the standings. See the action below featuring some amazing stunners.

Another game that did not disappoint was the matchup between FC Denver and Guadalajara. Both teams were sitting in the top four of the league standings and both teams practice a good brand of soccer, unique to their style of play. While Guadalajara controlled most of the possession during the game, FC Denver’s explosive & quick combinations going forward were too much for “los rojiblancos” to contain. The speed from FC Denver’s forwards proved to be the difference maker at times as well, breaking down the backline of Guadalajara and beating them 1v1 in open space, with speed. While the game was close at halftime with a 1-0 scoreline, FC Denver punished Guadalajara’s mistakes in the second half and only went up from there, scoring in three other occasions to take home three important points. With this win, FC Denver jumped into second place of the league standings and is still undefeated two games in.
